Summary: Jim hasn't seen his Vulcan bondmate for six months.. He comes to Vulcan for the ‘Anniversary of the Teachings of Surak’ and ‘New Year’. How do the events unfold in his parents in law house?
A red, stormy dry sky, so hot. The sand at his feet sparkles in the light. Jim is surrounded by Vulcan. He is always mesmerized with this planet and how much suits his lover. Spock mirrors it, as he is also hot, and smells like sand and red dust, and he is bright like a supernova who takes you away. He sparkles when he enters a room, when he is in a crowd, just by standing there and breathing Jim still can’t takes his eyes off him, because Spock is a magnetic force, Jim can't deny. He breathes differently, he moves differently, he is Vulcan and he is Jim's.
Jim doesn’t know how he finds the courage to make it to Sarek’s front door, but he is there. He tries to focus and smiles as he announces himself. The door opens to reveal the emotionless face of a Vulcan who shows him inside the mansion and directs him to the study. Jim is anxious and a little nervous as he reaches the door and knocks.
“Enter”, comes Sarek voice.
Jim gets a sense of foreboding. So Spock isn’t here and he will face the not- so- happy- to- see him- father in law. He adjusts his clothes, put his best stoic face and enters.
“Ambassador, live long and prosper”, Jim says in greeting while he bows slightly, because after all his years with Spock, he has yet figure out how to do the damn hand salute.
“Live long and prosper Admiral, as you see my son is not here… he is in the supplies area with his mother. Please make yourself at home, my son. You are free to go refresh yourself, or do as you please.”
“Thank you Sarek. I think I’ll take you up on your kind offer.”
“Kind? Admiral ‘kindness’ is an emotion. We Vulcans are incapable of such”.
Jim manages to suppress the flush and nods “Of course, Ambassador.” He nods again and excuses himself to go to his room.
Jim always feels like a little boy, who can say or does no right around Sarek. He always feels as though he doesn’t fit in the noble house of Sarek and that Sarek despises him for bonding with his son.
But it doesn’t matter. Jim wont let Sarek affect his mood. Spock is his with Sarek's approval or without it. He knows his bondmate is uncomfortable around his father too, so he will just go with the flow. It’s New Year after all, for a time of good towards men and Vulcan in laws, too!
New Year on the hot Vulcan world, is not likes New Year’s Iowa at all. While technically, his people are commemorating ‘The First Teaching of Surak’, Jim will be quietly celebrating for a better year, then the last. So he was determined to ensure a great day!
Yes, Jim this will be a merry opportunity as you say.
Jim hears Spock in the back of his mind, through the bond, and he is as mesmerized by it as always. Communicating without words just feels so warm, so intimate.
Spock, are you here?
That is obvious. His lover replied, If I weren’t close I wouldn’t be able to communicate so clearly with you.
Oh, that’s truth, I forgot about the distance idea. I’ve missed you so much.
Even after all these years, I cannot understand why you miss me, when we are never truly apart, Spock replied in a gentle and affectionate tone.
I love you too, my dear.
Jim decides to take a shower. He wants to look good for Spock after six long months, too much time for Jim’s health … He is human and he needs to see, hold and touch his bondmate.
He is in the shower when he hears the door open and sense a familiar presence.
“May I join you?” request the object of his longing.
“Do you really need to ask?” Jim replies with a grin.
Spock enters in all of his glory. Beautiful as ever, his pale green skin, his graceful body, the way he moves; Jim as is drawn to him as the first time he saw him, and is even more in love with him, if that is possible.
I’m always find fascinating how you see me, Spock says in wonderment.
But it’s the truth you are beautiful, and I’m getting a little old.
Jim might may I remind that you are younger than me by a year point five months, in addition I find your appearance very pleasant to the eye.
You must be blind for sure. Jim teases.
Jim feels the contact of that velvet skin that he longed for, and shudders, wanting more of it. Spock holds him from behind and he is astonished by the feel of his mate so close, he really does need his lover in order to breathe.
Wow, you really miss me too?
Not really, T’hy’la you are always in my mind and in my soul, but you seem to need a physical contact for emotional reassurance.Spock responds with such deep emotion, and in that Jim has his answer.
Emotional reassurance, my ass! You missed me too.
Jim moves around to hold his Vulcan. The embrace feels great Spock’s scent is warm and familiar and feels and smells like home…like being in front of a fireplace on a cold Christmas day. Like unwrapping presents, and receiving a better one that anyone could ever imagine. He would never understand why he had the amazing fortune to be here with his bondmate, but he is.
Spock offers his fingers and Jim meet them with a chaste Vulcan kiss, but he definitely needs more than that, even if Jim has become well trained at kissing two ways. It’s never enough So he moves for a gentle kiss on the lips, with Spock moving to deepen the kiss. The human finds his parted lips and makes a short cut to that sinful mouth which has done so many wonderful things to his own over the years and has brought him more pleasure and love than any other.
He loves to be with Spock like this. So with the copper taste from biting his lips, Jim goes for full contact with his tongue. It is their rhythm, one he knows so very well. He moans in his mouth because he needs Spock to breath, needs his Vulcan all around him, inside and outside, and both of their bodies begging for it with the same need that his soul has for completion. His heart is racing and his hips are moving without conscious volition. And in a marvelous moment he notices the need is not only his …Spock’s body is responding to the contact and the need as much as Jim’s own. And that realization is so amazing, no matter how many years have they have been together, that they could still have this… Jim is so overwhelmed, he doesn’t longer cares what Sarek’s opinion is anymore or if he is in a desert instead of a snow filleded northern earth … he is home, with Spock.
This delicious being is holding him, exploring and loving him, it is so overwhelming that Jim’s heart feels like it will explode from the expansion of his emotions, and he knows even if Spock always denies it, that the Vulcan feels the same way, too.
He notices within the gentle embrace, and in the complete adoration that exists in every corner of Jim’s body. And so he grins against his shoulder, as their bodies become one, that likewise there is just one soul between them. A stray thought filters through his conscious…he and Spock are the best when it comes to this truly blissful business.
The shower ends and they move, holding one another as they enter the bedroom. Jim was saving his stamina for this, and he feels proud he can still match his partner despite his gray hair and maybe will try for a third round, why not?
Jim feels a laughter in his head…contrary to the popular belief, Spock does laugh and often at that. He believes he never allows it to reach his face even though his eyes and the corners of his mouth often give him away. Jim is proud that he seems to be the only one who can notice every emotion on Spock’s face.
Jim, why does insulting me amuse you? I’m a Vulcan, and Vulcans do not laugh. Spock announced deadpan.
“Ha, don’t make me laugh, you sneaky little Vulcan. Your emotions are deeper than mine, and you laugh all the time”.
“Jim, I believe it is almost the appointed time for dinner, so please stop this behavior. You must prepare yourself, for the celebrations,” the Vulcan replied with faux stoicism.
“I’ll behave when you stop being so sexy and stop making my body long for yours. So, you see, by that logic, you're the one to blame here,” Jim teases.
Spock tries to change the subject, a green-tinted blush spreads on his cheeks... “I was wondering if you would like a present; Mother told me how important the exchange of gifts are on these occasions.”
"My love, I already have my present and I’m planning to unwrap it again after dinner." Jim shows his lover his most charming smile.
Even Sarek couldn’t change Jim’s mood tonight and he will claim the third round of dessert.
Spock returns to the shower and to change, leaving Jim to ponder that it has really been the best New Year, or anniversary ever, and he hears Spock telepathically laughing in his head through the bond at this thought.
Jim how many times I must remind you, Vulcans don’t laugh. came an amused reply.
Yes, he was home again. How could life get any better?
end.
